Product selection guide | Six zinc-plated spring steel variants

1. Product scope

ORIENS supplies double-wire crate clips as hardware for wooden crate connections and closures. All six variants in this guide use spring steel, 4 mm diameter wire, heat treatment for spring action, and zinc plating. The supply scope is hardware; wooden crates and complete packaging systems are not included. Related packaging components may be sourced on request.

Panel thickness follows the ORIENS-confirmed rule: long side minus short side. For example, 118 − 90 = 28 mm. Check the actual joint geometry and sample fit before confirming an order. Size designations identify dimensions and are not official model numbers.

The drawing supplied as “65–38” labels the short side as 38.2 mm, giving a panel thickness of 26.8 mm. The transverse width is 34 mm for all six variants. End-depth dimensions shown on the original drawings are separate measurements.

3. Material and finish

Material: spring steel. Wire diameter: Ø4 mm, approximately 0.157 in. Treatment: heat treated for spring action. Finish: zinc plated. Specific hardness, coating thickness, salt-spray performance, load ratings and cycle life are not specified for these six variants.

Ordering and Application

4. Confirming fit

Measure the actual panel thickness and select the corresponding long-minus-short dimension. Provide joint photos or a section drawing so that contact positions, installation clearance and sample fit can be checked. Confirm assembly and removal with the matching clip and crate before volume use.

Clip quantity, spacing and tools depend on the crate design. Installation and removal instructions for stamped C057/C058 clips should not automatically be applied to these wire clips.

5. Requesting a quotation

Please specify the size designation, actual panel thickness, joint configuration, quantity, service environment, packing requirements and destination. MOQ: 500 pieces; mixed-size order conditions are subject to quotation.

Unit weight, packing quantity, net and gross carton weights, carton dimensions and production lead time require confirmation for each variant. Standard stamped-clip packing data do not apply.

6. Custom requirements

Custom dimensions, wire forms and material options can be evaluated against drawings or samples. Logo application, colours and alternative finishes require a feasibility review for the specific wire design. They are not included as standard features of these six zinc-plated variants.

7. Drawing package

The appendix includes dimension images for all six variants, with millimetre and inch annotations. All six have a confirmed transverse width of 34 mm and Ø4 mm wire. The 116 × 89 and 65 × 38.2 images reproduce the supplied drawings; the other four are selection schematics and are not manufacturing drawings.

Before production, agree a complete drawing and sample. The original 65–38.2 drawing contains an incorrect inch conversion for Ø4: the correct equivalent is approximately 0.157 in, not 0.94 in.
